Okay I promised I no more customs for a while, but...

Okay, so I said that I'd not make any more customs for a while to concentrate on The Surgeon project, but my partner Ren is still at Dragoncon and the oppurtunity presented itself at the Dollar Store when I found these cool skeleton bats in the Halloween section. I thought it would be perfect to make a mod of the broken Skeleton Warriors Aracula figure I got at a flea market last year. I call him The Keyholder. He has a chain around his neck with a key on it, as well as a real cloth loincloth with a metal skull adorning it. He's hand-painted, clear coated, and has glow-in the dark eyes.

And another custom in my store

This dangerous filly was made with various Glyos parts as well as other toy parts. Her goggles and chest thingy glow in the dark. Hand painted and clear coated.

This is the last custom toy for a while I'll be putting in my store, as I am out of the right types of Glyos parts to make anymore viable figures. Besides, when he gets back from Dragon Con, me and my pal Ren need to put our noses to the grindstone to finish and release The Surgeon.

New item in the shop

This legendary occult artifact is supposedly the pilfered and mummified hand of a hanged murderer, the Hand of Glory is said to bestow all sorts of powers such as invisibility, the ability to open any lock, or immobilize anyone in its vicinity.

Unfortunately, this one does none of these things, but damn does it not look cool as fuck?

It's made of plastic and sculpted epoxy putty hanging on an adjustable leather necklace. The freaky eyeball part glows in the dark.

Yet another item in my store!

Made this guy on a whim. Guess the arts and crafts stores bringing out their Halloween stuff is getting me in a macabre mood. He stands almost exactly 2" tall. Everything but the Skeleden head is made from epoxy putty and the legs are supported by paneling nails driven into the head, so they are pretty damn sturdy. And like my previous creepy guys, the eyes glow in the dark.

New customs in my store

Added two new items to my storefront located at here: http://planetlobross.limitedrun.com/

This fearsome creature is made from a Glyos armorvor using one of the few remaining retired wolf-like heads before Onell Design switched over to the reptilian head. The creepy details are hand sculpted with epoxy putty, the weapon is hand made, and the eyes... all the eyes... even all the creepy little beady ones... glow in the dark. He is hand painted and clear coated.

These inch-high abominations are customized Toyfinity Mordles with extreme hand-sculpted details using epoxy putty. The eyes... all the eyes... glow in the dark. They are also hand painted and clear coated.

Got another Glyos custom in my online store. I call this guy Dome Diabolos. He’s made from various Glyos compatible bits that have been hand painted and clear coated. His head-dome glows in the dark and his cape is made of cloth.
If you’re interested in owning him or any of my other creations, visit my online store: http://planetlobross.limitedrun.com/

Progress!

My 3D wizard pal Ren is still working on tweaking/slicing the models to print decently. He just sent me this pic this morning. He tried printing all the pieces in one go and it kind of caused them to peel off the bed and get a little messed up in the process, but the end result still shows we're pretty damn close to having viable prints! For now, we plan to print the pieces one at a time and see what happens.

And yet another custom Glyos toy for sale

This asymmetrical horror is called The Warp Heap. Made from various Glyos/Callgrim and various other Glyos compatible pieces, along with a weathered cloth cape. Hand painted and clear coated.

If you's like to own him or any of my other creations, he is for sale at http://planetlobross.limitedrun.com/

New custom figure up at the Planet Lobross store

It's been a while since I made a custom Glyos figure. This is Corvos, made of various Glyos compatible bits. Hand painted and clear coated.

If you're interested in owning him, you can buy him and my other creations here: planetlobross.limitedrun.com/

A pleasant surprise!

OMG this gives me chills. My 3D guy Ren recently got himself a printer and managed to make this head out of PLA filament

It's still a little rough, but nothing an emory board can't fix. But you can barely see any stepping at all! Just to be on the safe side, I'm asking that he print one out in ABS and try acetone vapor smoothing it a little bit so we can have a comparison.

Also I am so jazzed how well the horns and his goatee spike came out! OMG!

A vision of the future

So we're a long way from having a viable prototype. Here's a 3" solid figure I had printed from Shapeways a some months back that I just recently painted to get an idea of how the first run colorways will appear. Decided to go with the Hades Force color scheme because it is one of my favorite Glyos colorways. Please forgive the gritty texture. Shapeways nylon materials, even with polished are pretty damn rough. Also my hands have been super shakey lately for reasons I'd rather not get into.

New storefront and small side project

I decided to graduate from the primitive HTML storefront and got an account at Limited Run. The new store can be found HERE or you can click on the store icon on the page to your right.

Added a new custom toy on top of the four already there. Solomon and his starfighter Feena:

http://planetlobross.limitedrun.com/products/572614-solomon-and-feena

Also, I am working on some hand-crafted goodies to sell towards my 3D printer savings fund.

Eldritch Bottles:

They're basically 3" bottles hand-sculpted of polymer clay featuring Lovecraftian iconography. No two would be alike. The finished products will be hand painted, clear coated, and stoppered with a wooden cork. I hope to have about eight of them up for sale by the end of the week.

Still alive

Still don't have my 3D printer yet. Afraid to buy it at this point in time due to some difficulties at my current place of employment. Hopefully it will stabilize and I will feel better about making the expenditure. Also 3D model is almost done. Just got to do some more tweaks to it. Might get an SLA printed prototype from Shapeways to show off some time soon.

Site's coming along

Still working on the site.

At this point in time, I have a four custom figures up for sale at the store section with more to come soon!

Still waiting till next week's paycheck and I'll have my 3D printer, and hopefully the model will be done by then. After a couple weeks of tweaking and finding just the right ways to slice and print the model, we will have some prototypes to share!

Also planning to have other 3D printed goodies up for sale soon as well. Stay tuned!

Enter: The Surgeon

From a rift in time/space comes The Surgeon, a being posessed by a vampiric parasite which imbues him with incredible powers, but also an insatiable hunger for the flesh and blood of other sentient creatures.

The Surgeon is the first of what I hope to be a line of production Glyos-compatible action figures. Created and designed by me, 3D sculpted by awesome 3D modeler Tron Guignard, and fine tuned by equally awesome 3D modeler Jayson Tobias, The Surgeon will come to life via the magic of 3D printing until I can afford to have him made in full production PVC.

The primary build will be an 11 piece Glyos figure with a 8 additional pieces to make the thrall character.

Stay tuned to this blog as I go more into detail on the creative process going into making this guy and detail the progress of development! I also give shoutouts to other Glyos creators and pimp their awesome creations!
